I know nothing about American football or cheerleading, but I've been HOOKED on this docuseries from the first moment.
I find the intense culture around cheerleading (and American sports in general) really fascinating, particularly in areas like Texas. Any preconceived notions that cheerleading isn't a real sport have been dispelled after witnessing these young women's truly mind-blowing athletic abilities.
Season 2 is when I think this show really levelled up, as the fight for fair pay entered the conversation for the first time.
We're now back for Season 3, and these women are now juggling the added pressure of increased public scrutiny and fame, while the calibre of talent continues to soar and the competition gets even more cut-throat.
You will never listen to AC/DC's Thunderstruck in the same way again...
